State agencies Munich € 4 million saved by switching to Ubuntu and OpenOffice.org

Administration of the City of Munich has filed a report on the results of translation nine thousand computers in government agencies with MS Windows and MS Office on the LiMux (modified Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) and OpenOffice.org. The total savings of 4,000,000 €, of which € 2.8 million saved by eliminating the commercial license and € 1.2 million did not have to spend on equipment upgrades that would need to purchase to ensure the minimum requirements of Windows 7.
It is also noted reduction in the number of complaints about problems with 70 to 46 per month.
