Dell refuses to Windows in favor of Ubuntu Linux

Dell has announced its plans to release PCs with Linux pre-installed instead of Windows. As the distribution is chosen Ubuntu Linux, with which vendor was still working in 2007. It is expected that the new system will be installed on desktops, laptops, netbooks.

In order to promote online vendor display a page consisting of a descriptive comparison of two operating systems. In 10 major theses, which are aimed at an indication of the benefits of Ubuntu Linux, Dell notes that this distribution is simple to use, stable and secure solution. Vendor also indicates that the system has a built in support for various social networking web browser Firefox (Facebook, Myspace and so on), which in the next release of Ubuntu will be fully integrated. Similarly, the advertised ability to play multimedia under Ubuntu using proprietary player from Dell, receiving more than 1000 free software, compatibility of office document file formats between Linux and Windows. The system also load faster than Windows - according to the manufacturer “cold start” is about 30 seconds. Dell also emphasizes that is the world’s largest PC manufacturer, who sold them along with preloaded Ubuntu.
