Microsoft code is not adopted in the Linux kernel in connection with violation of license

Not long ago, Microsoft offered to include in the kernel linux about 20,000 lines of code, which ensures correct operation of Hyper-V, virtualization from MS.

Stephen Hemminger (Stephen Hemminger), chief engineer of Vyatta and an active participant in the project Linux Kernel found in the proposed code of components, published under the GPL, but link against the library’s closing, which expressly prohibits the license. As a result, the code from Microsoft in the kernel is not accepted.
