The current kernel build 2.6.30 is the first for the last 3 months of release. Version 2.6.29 introduced in April 2009. The next version of the kernel appears in the fall, around October, when the market will see a new Mac OS and Windows 7.

In the new version of the kernel, as mentioned above, came quick loading procedure, which provides an accelerated launch of the kernel.
