Microsoft and the Linux Foundation concurred

Microsoft and the organization of Linux Foundation, sent a joint letter to the American Law Institute (American Law Institute - ALI), which is developing comments to American law.

Developers are asked ALI clarify the warranty in the supply of software. In particular, they want to, warranties for detecting hidden non-material defects.

Chapter Linux Foundation Jim Zemlin (Jim Zemlin) believes that the principles defined by the Institute, are in contradiction with the legitimate distribution schemes for both commercial and open source software. He said the comments in this form would give rise to a large number of lawsuits and huge losses of software developers. Details are not disclosed.
