Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine plans to develop a system of concurrent use of free (open) and closed (proprietary) software. This was reported by the press office of the Ministry of Education.
“The ministry will create a flexible system of parallel use of open and proprietary software in the Ukrainian education system as open source software is developed all the great pace,” - said Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Max Strikha.
It is worth noting that earlier studies were conducted in Ukraine, which should determine what software - open or closed - will save more resources. However, these studies have not led to a general conclusion. At the same time, the experience of using open-source software in education in many countries testifies to the economic benefits of this type.
