Novell launched a competition for the best video about Linux

The company Novell, which develops and sells enterprise solutions based on SUSE Linux, today announced the launch of its video contest about Linux, known as “What do you do with Linux?” (What do you do with Linux?).

Basic contest rules are quite simple and in many respects similar to those that were at the recent Linux-video contest, initiated by the Organization of Linux Foundation. First, the video should answer the question of competition ( “What do you do with Linux?”). Secondly, the age of the participant should be at least 18 years. Third, the duration of the video should not exceed one minute. Fourthly, the video must be in English or have subtitles in English. Finally, the video should be in a format that permitted on YouTube.

The site of the competition states that will determine the winners of the Open Source-Community with a “little help” from the sponsors of the initiative. The main prize - 2000 USD. Three winners, who won, will receive netbook, HP Mini 2140, and another 10 people - compact camcorder Flip Mono. Closing date for applications - June 1, 2009. June 3 will be announced the finalists for whom it will be possible to vote before the end of June. Winners videos about Linux, organized by Novell, will be announced on July 1, 2009.
