Phoenix is developing a new BIOS, with the built environment and the Linux hypervisor

Company Phoenix Technologies, manufacturer of basic I / O systems and PhoenixBIOS AwardBIOS, is developing a next-generation BIOS firmware, which includes built-in virtualization and full userland on Linux. The prototype of this system is a previously released product HyperSpace, which is a bystrozagruzhaemoe Linux environment, installed in the disk partitions, and can, through the integration of the hypervisor, immediately switch to HyperSpace, without interrupting the current operating system.

In contrast to the surrounding HyperSpace, possessing only a minimal set of functions bounded running web-browser (Firefox) and a file manager (X File Explorer), the new system will add the application to read e-mail, instant messaging, and performing other typical tasks users. According to the head of Phoenix, the new BIOS should be like in nature to a smartphone, that at any time, regardless of whether or not to have included a computer, provide the opportunity to quickly implement a basic set of operations.
