Microsoft sounded the alarm about the Ukraine’s transition to open source

In the Microsoft were worried about a round table discussion on “Concept of the State Target Program implementation in government software with open source”, scheduled for May 12.

Wilfried Grommen, regional director for technology, specially arrived for a meeting with state bodies, and informed view of the corporation that the government did not have to rely solely on open source software, but choose the more advantageous for the budget models, how open and proprietary software .

According to Microsoft, international experience shows that the most successful in stimulating innovation and economic growth reaches the governments that follow this approach:

“Governments should not create preferences for particular business models or specific ways to achieve interoperability, a means of prohibiting others. Such actions deprive the users the possibility to freely choose the most effective technical solutions that meet their needs, and retard economic growth ….
