One of the largest banks in the U.S. using Linux

Morgan Stanley, one of the largest commercial banks in the U.S., uses Linux in commercial operation since 2001, including for the operation of critical financial applications. This was announced by Anthony Golia, head of IT-units of the bank.

The reason for the introduction of Linux is its ability to optimal performance on inexpensive hardware and more opportunities for the rapid elimination of errors due to its own rapid reaction force and independent community. In addition, the strengths of Linux notes the possibility of quick configuration and monitoring of a large number of servers.
