439 supercomputers in the world use Linux

Released the next Top500 (32nd in a row) supercomputers in the world. Many news groups of the Internet naturally analyze information about the performance of these computers and use them in parts, but LOR we are interested in operating systems used in these supercomputers, in particular - Linux. Thus, 439 supercomputers (87.8% of the total list) of the world are using OS Linux! This is a new record set by Linux in Top500. Compared to the previous list (July 2008) is a 12 supercomputers more. And compared to last year - at 16. Unix and mixed OS lose its share by passing its Linux. 23 supercomputers use Unix (4.6%) and 31 mixed OS (6.2%). Well, Windows is still only 5 supercomputers (1%), as in the July list. In one supercomputer (0.2%) use BSD Based and MacOS. Thus, over 15 years of existence, the list of Top500 Linux increases its share of c each new version of the list, and in the near future, the picture does not change! Cheers! :)

P.S. In fact, Windows is fully used by only 3 supercomputers. In 2 others used in conjunction with Linux. But the authors of the Top500 some reason do not enroll them in the category of “mixed system”, and placed in the category of Windows.
