Mandriva Linux for netbooks presented

Company Mandriva, one of the world’s leading Linux-vendors, today announced the release a Linux distribution specifically designed to work on low-power notebooks and netbooks. In Mandriva said that the new OS, Mandriva Mini is intended primarily for manufacturers of netbooks.

Among the features of Mandriva Mini distinguished: fast load the OS, advanced networking capabilities, built-in support for all necessary audio and video codecs. In addition, the OS kernel has been specially adapted to run on a processor Intel Atom.

Separately, the company said on a completely new system of power management and the new interface, specifically designed for 8 - and 10-inch notebooks.
