Linux will dominate the market for mobile Internet devices

Researchers at ABI Research published a forecast that a GNU / Linux will become the leading operating system on the market for mobile Internet devices by 2013.
According to a study ABI, after 5 years the number of sales of mobile Internet devices with Linux should reach the mark of 50 million per year, which will not free to circumvent its competitors in the face, for example, Windows Mobile.
As the researchers note, the market MID represents a rare situation “from scratch”, when at the start of all mobile operating systems, equal chances, “without historical heritage, as the smartphone market.” Linux is, in their opinion, succeeds largely thanks to the opportunity to provide a unified platform that combines multiple mobile components.
