ALT Linux is certified to work with the state of confidential information

Distribution ALT Linux Desktop Professional FSTEK received a certificate recognizing the absence of a system of undeclared capabilities and means of protection against unauthorized access. This is the only case to date in Russia, where Linux-distro for workstations certified to work with the state of confidential information.
As it became known CNews, Russia free software ALT Linux has received the certificate of compliance with the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC) on the distribution of ALT Linux 4.0 Desktop Professional. In this document, ALT Linux 4.0 Desktop Professional recognized “program to process information,” the relevant requirements of protection against unauthorized access (5 level of control), in which the absence of undeclared investments (Level 4 control).

Service of technical and export control FSTEK, a part of Russia’s Defense Ministry, is engaged in testing and certification of software for their security and suitability for processing and transfer of sensitive data, including the documents containing state secrets.
