Ubuntu 8.04 released

The new version of one of the most popular Linux distributions - Ubuntu 8.04.
The new version is codenamed “Hardy Heron”.

New features:
# GNOME 2.22: the latest version of the popular working environment with some nice innovations.
# Linux kernel 2.6.24: contains a new process scheduler and patches that improve energy efficiency.
# PulseAudio: Sound Server, which has flexible settings, such as the ability to change the volume level for each application
# Xorg 7.3: latest version, more easy; new utility for easy configuration of output to external monitors.
# Firefox 3 Beta 5: famous web browser, which is now better integrated into the working environment Gnome.
# Uncomplicated Firewall (ufw): firewall with the possibility of a simplified setup.
# Wubi: allows you to install ubuntu in windows as a normal application.

Behind the scene were many other improvements and innovations that simplify the lives of both end users and system administrators.

Apparently, the creators of this distribution has already reached a lot and do not intend to stop there. Wish them good luck.
