Who and what develops Linux

Over 85% change in the Linux kernel makes a major IT companies such as Red Hat, Novell, IBM, Intel and others. Only 13,9% of programmers working to develop the kernel only as a hobby - these are the results of a study commissioned by The Linux Foundation (LF). Kernel developers have different goals - someone improves his support for own equipment, others are oriented to the demand from users.
