10 steps on the path to the popularity of Linux

Matt Hartley, in his article “Ten Steps Needed for Fiery Desktop Linux Adoption”:

Every month there are articles, whose authors claim that they have found the magic formula the rising popularity of Linux on desktops. But for me, these articles look like an attempt to put the cart before the horse. Those who are interested in desktop Linux are trying to sell something that has serious problems. Desktop Linux is ready for everyday use, but there are areas on which attention should be paid before talking about the mass use. Then I present a list of those areas that I believe are in dire need of attention. I would just warn you that I am a frequent user of Linux, and not biased guru Windows.
