Linuksoidy begun to transfer schools to free software

Company’s “Armada”, a member of the consortium won a tender for the supply of free software in Russia’s schools, has launched a website that will cover the course linuksizatsii schools.

On the website are typical configurations of computers, which will be manufactured assembly software, will be published success stories of the transfer on Linux (now section is empty), also launched a forum.

It should be noted that the above configuration of computers, which will be developed under the software packages closer to reality than those under which plans to buy non-free soft in the programs for the legalization of software in schools, which last November won the “Compulink”. In particular, the assembly will be made for computers with processors clocked at 233Mhz, which has 128 megabytes of RAM.

At first glance, there is an obvious discrepancy between the actions of the government, which buys one-handed non-free software, and another - pay linuksizatsiyu schools. This sequence of actions associated with the need for quick legalization of software in educational institutions, which is solved by means of purchasing the necessary licenses.

However, in the future, after the 2009-year, planned to abandon the purchase of non-free software and the current program linuksizatsii educational institutions to pave the way to go to school for free software.
