New York Stock Exchange moved to Linux

The main reasons for the use of technology called independence from vendor. According to the NYSE CIO Steve Rubinou, they do not experience any negative emotions in relation to the HP-UX, AIX and Solaris, but do not want to depend on proprietary vendors. Basically NYSE has used Solaris, but chose HP hardware and Linux, because open operating system provides them more flexibility. Also one of the reasons is the lower cost of support and implementation.
