The new version of the Linux distribution for schools

Skolelinux is now widely used in schools in Norway, Germany and many other countries. Skolelinux International has released the final version of the distribution Skolelinux 3.0. This distribution is based on Debian and is intended for use in schools. The proposed system includes more than eighty applications required in schools and universities, as well as 15 network services. In the distribution, which supports 50 languages, includes, including OpenOffice.org and Mozilla Firefox. The new version offers the following features:

* Designed based on Debian 4.0;
* Uses the Linux kernel 2.6.18;
* Supports installation on the i386, PowerPC platform, and AMD64;
* Compatible with the Linux Standard Base 3.1;
* Supports SATA-controllers and hard drives;
* Installation allows you to use a mouse.
