The cost of developing Windows-and Linux-based applications

The results of the three leading analytical companies Forrester Research, Meta Group and Embedded Market Forecasters clearly show that the total cost of ownership solutions on the Windows platform is less than Linux-based

Develop windows-based applications easier and cheaper to develop Linux-applications - these are the results of a study commissioned by the Microsoft agency Giga Research, a research group belonging to Forrester Research. The study, whose findings were published Sept. 8, 2003, comparing the cost of developing Web applications on the platform of Microsoft. Net and Java 2 Enterprise Edition of the company Sun Microsystems Inc on Linux.
