Red Hat introduced a new version of Linux for low-cost PCs

Company Red Hat introduced a new version of the distribution Linux, designed for use on inexpensive personal computers.

Announced a software platform called Red Hat Global Desktop. It is assumed that the operating system will be installed on desktops and laptops, targeted at developing markets. The company Red Hat emphasize that the development of Red Hat Global Desktop was carried out jointly with specialists of Intel. New software platform makes the minimum hardware requirements and thus provides users with enough opportunities. Red Hat Global Desktop, in particular, can be used on inexpensive computers, Intel Classmate. It is expected that the operating system Red Hat Global Desktop will be available later this year.
