Mobile Linux starts expansion

According to the research firm forecasts ABI Research, the number of mobile phones and handheld devices running Linux in the next five years will increase dramatically.

Thus, by 2012, analysts predict yield 200 million Linux-phone. According to Stuart Carlaw, today mobile Linux - is just 8.1 million devices, but through the support of companies such as Nokia, Motorola and some others, the popularity of open operating systems will increase.

Important role in achieving the 200 millionth milestone will play third-party developers, such as Trolltech or Montavista.

Also, experts point out that by 2012, and the overall percentage increase in mobile devices will increase significantly over current levels.
