Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan will soon introduce the use of Linux on the school computers all over the country - says OhmyNews [1]. Positive changes, however, occur in the minds of Russia’s state officials. Recently, the First Vice-Premier of Russia Dmitry Medvedev spoke [2] on the transition to open source as a matter of state vazhnosti.Soglasno report a year ago, more than 400 thousand computers in Japanese schools are working on older versions of Windows - 98 and Millenium Edition. Their upgrade cost would be too expensive. This led to the decision to move to open source, discussed during the conference E-squared Evolution, held in Tokyo on March 2-3.
